In 2005, while visiting Sera-Jhe monastery in India, following the requests from Chadrel Khamtsen, an officialisation of Rinpoche's position as a Tulku took place in Sera-Jhe Chadrel khamtsen. As this procedure is often unknown to Westerners, who only rely on His Holiness the Dalaï Lama's office letters.
